Seven Indicted For Bridgeport Heroin Operation
The ring operated "in and around" Bridgeport, authorities said.

BRIDGEPORT, CT - A federal grand jury returned an indictment Wednesday charging seven Bridgeport residents with heroin trafficking offenses.
All seven were arrested Wednesday, federal officials said.
Deirdre M. Daly, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut; Patricia M. Ferrick, special agent in charge of the New Haven Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and Bridgeport Police Chief Armando J. Perez announced the arrests.

FBI officials said those charged in the eight-count indictment are:
- Kareem Roseboro, 41, who goes by the street name of "Swiss."
- Harry Blake, 33, who goes by the street names of "Harry-O" and "O."
- Michael Bennett, 28.
- Jonathan Zayas, 22.
- Marcus Milton, 50.
- Glen Porter, 30, who goes by the street name of "Kuran."
- Roy Trotter, 33, who goes by the street name of "Nez."
The indictment is a result of a joint investigation conducted by the FBI’s Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force, the Bridgeport Police Department and the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force into the distribution of heroin "in and around Bridgeport," according to a news release issued by the FBI.

The investigation included court-authorized wiretaps and controlled purchases of heroin, according to a news release issued by the FBI.
The Stratford Police Department, the Stamford Police Department and a Trumbull Police Department canine unit also took part in the investigation, FBI officials said.
During the course of the investigation, agents seized multiple "bricks" of heroin, items used in the processing and packaging of heroin and five firearms, FBI officials said.
A brick of heroin contains 100 individual dose bags, FBI officials said.
The indictment charges each defendant with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute heroin. If convicted of the offense, based on the quantity of heroin charged, Roseboro, Blake, Bennett, Zayas and Milton face a minimum term of imprisonment of five years and a maximum sentence of 40 years, according to a news release issued by the FBI.
Porter and Trotter face a maximum prison term of 20 years, according to a news release issued by the FBI.
The indictment also charges Blake, Bennett, Zayas, Milton, Porter and Trotter with one or more counts of possessing with the intent to distribute heroin.
The defendants appeared Wednesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge William I. Garfinkel in Bridgeport and are currently being detained, FBI officials said.
