State Police: Man Injured in Apparent Fall from Bridgeport Overpass

Authorities say the man did not have identification on him, and they are seeking the public's help to find out who he is.

BRIDGEPORT, CT - An unidentified man was discovered unconscious on the shoulder of Route 8 in Bridgeport early Monday, and state police suspect he fell from the overpass near exit 2 southbound.

The man suffered an apparent head injury, several broken bones and lacerations and was discovered just after 5 a.m. State police said troopers believe he may have fallen from the Washington Street overpass.

He did not appear to have been struck by a vehicle, according to state police, and man was not carrying any identification. Troopers are seeking the public's help in discovering who he is and what happened.

The man was being treated in Bridgeport Hospital.

"The victim is described as a black male with 'salt and pepper' balding hair, and a gray mustache and beard," wrote state police in a statement. "The male victim is approximately 45-60 years old, approximately 5' 10," weighing 220-240 lbs. He was wearing a flannel shirt, work pants, and black sneakers. He had no other identifiable marks."
