Stray Bullet Injures Elderly Person In Bridgeport: Police

The shooting occurred early Tuesday on Connecticut Avenue, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A stray bullet struck an elderly person in the abdomen early Tuesday, and Bridgeport police are investigating.

The victim was taken to an area hospital following the shooting, which occurred at about 12:40 a.m. The person's identity and condition were not disclosed.

Bridgeport police were notified of the shooting from a ShotSpotter activation in the 300 block of Connecticut Avenue near the intersection with Fifth Street.
