Suspect Arrested In Bridgeport Shooting: Police
The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to Bridgeport police.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 33-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested on a warrant this week in connection with a Dec. 17 shooting in Bridgeport that left a 33-year-old Stratford man critically injured with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to police.
Akeim Thomas was charged with the following:
- Criminal Attempt, Assault in the 1st Degree of an Elderly Person/Disabled Person
- Illegal Discharge of a Firearm
- Threatening in the 2nd Degree
- Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree
- Risk of Injury to a Child
- Disorderly Conduct
- Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree
According to Bridgeport police, the shooting occurred in a home in the 400 block of Hollister Ave. The victim, whose identity has not been released, is being treated at an area hospital.

Details of what led to the shooting have not been disclosed, but police found "multiple items of evidence" inside the home.
Thomas is being held in lieu of bail of $750,000, and will appear in court at a later date.
