Suspect In Bridgeport Machete Killing Sentenced To Prison: Report

Albert Hernandez-Martinez was killed in June 2022 in front of a nightclub on the corner of Federal Street and Madison Avenue in Bridgeport.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — The 20-year-old Bridgeport man accused of using a machete in the June 2022 killing of Albert Hernandez-Martinez was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years in prison, the Connecticut Post reported.

Kevin Valverde reportedly fled to Iowa to avoid capture, but was caught and returned to Bridgeport.

He had pleaded guilty to a murder charge, and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Tracy Lee Dayton.
