Suspect 'Considered Armed And Dangerous' Sought By Bridgeport Police

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport police have identified a suspect in connection with a March 8 shooting on Iranistan Avenue, and authorities are asking for the public's help in finding him.

Tomas Elias Laporte, 48, is "considered armed and dangerous," according to police. He is known to frequent Bridgeport's West Side. See the wanted poster below.

Laporte is wanted on a charge of first-degree assault with a firearm in connection with the shooting of a 52-year-old man multiple times in the leg.

Police described Laporte as white-Hispanic, with black hair and brown eyes. He stands 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.

People who encounter Laporte should "immediately call 911 with any information and follow up with the case officer, Detective Arturo Calvao, at 203 581-5215."
