Teen, 18, Pleads Guilty In Fatal Shooting In Bridgeport: Report

The 18-year-old pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the homicide, according to a report.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — An 18-year-old Stratford resident has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with a fatal shooting in Bridgeport in 2021, according to the Connecticut Post.

The Post reports Edwin Abrams faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced in April on charges of conspiracy to commit murder and first-degree robbery in connection with the killing of Jamel Hayden on Aug. 28, 2021.

Investigators said Hayden was killed after he was shot in the back over what appeared to be a robbery over about $250 worth of marijuana, the Post previously reported.

The accused shooter, 18-year-old Syshone Joyner, previously rejected a plea bargain and is scheduled for trial in March, according to the Post.
