Three Overdose on Heroin in Bridgeport, One Dead

BRIDGEPORT, CT - One person died from a heroin overdose on Jefferson Street in Bridgeport early Monday, and two others at the same location also OD'd but did not die, according to police.

Details of the overdoses and the gender and identity of the deceased were not immediately available. The Hartford Courant reports that the person was pronounced dead by the time they arrived at Bridgeport Hospital.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Connecticut is in the midst of a heroin abuse epidemic, which has killed dozens over the past couple of years.
