Another of P.T.BARNUMS'discoveries was CHARLES STRATTON[TOM THUMB]HE was known as GENERAL TOM THUMB.BORN JANUARY 4TH 1838-DIED JULY 15TH1883 in BRIDGEPORT CT.Even though he was born a dwarf he became a giant star.BARNUM pushed his career and both men became famous and wealthy.PT.BARNUM heard about STRATTON and went to talk with his parents.HE trained the boy to sing and dance and audiences loved him.Toured AMERICA at age 5 and toured EUROPE and was once to perform for QUEEN VICTORIA.HE became famous with BARNUM promoting him and became quite wealthy.Not bad for a dwarf who took up with BARNUM and the rest is history.
