Victim ID'd In Fatal Bridgeport Hit-And-Run, As Probe Continues
The victim, a Bridgeport resident, was struck by a truck early Saturday.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Police released the name of the victim of a Saturday hit-and-run crash in Bridgeport, as the investigation remains open, according to Bridgeport authorities.
Bridgeport resident Michael E. Crocker was struck by a truck at about 1:20 a.m. near Boston and Bishop avenues, and succumbed to his injuries later at the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, and a description of the Chevrolet truck was given out to state authorities and neighboring police departments.

"Trumbull located a vehicle fitting that description with heavy front end damage," Bridgeport police said. "One party [was] detained and transported to booking."
Police have not released additional information on the person who was detained, or if that person is a suspect.

"Currently, this remains an on-going active investigation," police said.
