Victim Suffers 'Severe Head Injury' In Hammer Attack In Bridgeport: PD
The attack was part of an attempted robbery, according to Bridgeport police.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A hammer-wielding assailant attacked a person in an attempted robbery in Bridgeport Thursday night, which resulted in the victim suffering a "severe head injury," according to police.
The incident occurred at about 10:15 p.m. in Court A of Success Village, Bridgeport police said, and the victim, who was alert and able to communicate with police, is listed in stable condition in Bridgeport Hospital.
Police said the victim reported that he was approached by a stranger who requested money, and after the victim did not comply, he was struck in the head with a hammer.

"Bridgeport Police are actively investigating this incident," authorities said. "Anyone with further information on this incident [is] asked to contact the Bridgeport Police at 203-576-TIPS."
