Victims Identified In Double-Fatal Shooting In Bridgeport
Two people were killed in a shooting at a home in Bridgeport early Thursday morning, according to police.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Candace Goodwin, 19, of Stratford, and Austin Burgher, 59, of Jamaica, have been identified as the victims of a double-fatal shooting early Thursday morning in Bridgeport, according to the Connecticut Post.
The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Platt Street. Police said officers were fired at as they approached the home, the Post previously reported.
The suspect, 25-year-old Tarik Francis, surrendered to police shortly after investigators arrived at the scene, according to News12 Connecticut.

News12 Connecticut reports Francis was charged with murder and other charges and is being held in lieu of a $5 million bond.
Police said the shooting was an isolated incident where the victims knew the suspect, according to the Post.
