Violent Night In Bridgeport Sends Four To Hospital

Reports: City police investigating a shooting, two violent robberies that happened overnight.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport residents are waking up this morning to city police investigating three separate violent incidents in Connecticut's biggest city, according to WTNH-8.

The incidents happened between 11 p.m. Friday and 2:25 a.m. this morning and they were comprised of a shooting in a store in which two people were wounded and two separate violent robberies in the city, one involving a gun and the other a knife, WTNH-8 reports.

The night of violence resulted in four being taken to the hospital, according to WTNH-8.

In the 11 p.m. incident, two people were shot in a Park Avenue establishment, with one being shot in the back and the other shot in the stomach, according to the Connecticut Post.

At 12:40 a.m. today, Bridgeport authorities got a call from a resident saying he was robbed at gunpoint and pistol whipped on Stratford Avenue, according to the Connecticut Post.

During the 2:25 a.m. incident, the Connecticut Post reported that dispatchers were called for a robbery and when police arrived to Maplewood Avenue, a stabbing victim with non-life-threatening injuries was found.
