The Watermark to Host Lecture on Breast Cancer and Genetic Testing
The guest speakers will be Bridgeport surgeon Dr. Camelia Lawrence and St. Vincent's College professor Susan Capasso
On Wednesday, October 19, The Watermark at 3030 Park will host a lecture on breast cancer and genetic testing as part of its ongoing lecture series with St. Vincent’s Medical Center. The event will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the retirement community, located at 3030 Park Avenue on the Bridgeport-Fairfield town line.
The guest speakers for this event will be Dr. Camelia Lawrence, a surgeon in Bridgeport, and Professor Susan Capasso, Vice President of Academic Affairs at St. Vincent’s College in Bridgeport. Lawrence and Capasso will discuss the connection between breast cancer and genetics, and how preventative testing can look into a person’s probability of being diagnosed.
Lawrence and Capasso will also be available to answer questions from the audience following their presentation.

“Breast cancer is an unfortunate and frightening reality for many people,” said Kristin Butler, Executive Director at The Watermark. “By inviting Drs. Lawrence and Capasso to speak on the subject, we hope that all who attend will come away with guidance that can provide themselves and their loved ones with a healthy future.”
