Woman Killed In 6 Vehicle Crash In Bridgeport: Police
The identity of the deceased has been released by police. Two other people were hospitalized.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Gladys Andrade, 74, of Bridgeport, was killed in a multi-vehicle crash that occurred just before 6:30 p.m. Friday night on Linen Avenue, police said
Investigators said a vehicle hit a car from behind and the force of the crash led to three adjacent parked cars also being struck and another oncoming vehicle, police said. Two other people were hospitalized.
Police said a woman told 911 that a female driver involved in the accident was trapped in her vehicle and going into cardiac arrest.

Upon arrival, an officer states, he saw six vehicles with damage, police said. He also saw AMR giving medical assistance to an unresponsive woman and two young men from a separate vehicle, police said. The woman and the two young men were transported to Bridgeport Hospital.
Police said Andrade died at the hospital as a result of injuries she sustained in the crash.

The Bridgeport Police Serious Crash Team reconstructed the scene and obtained video of the serious crash.
Police said that "A silver 2014 Nissan Pathfinder bearing Ct. registration AL99149, being operated by (a 22-year-old Bridgeport resident), was traveling west on Linen Ave. and crashed into the rear of a gray 2022 Honda CRV being operated by 74-year-old Gladys Andrade. The impact pushed, the 2022 Honda CRV into an oncoming silver 2015 Dodge Charger being operated by 27-year-old (Bridgeport resident) and several parked vehicles. "
