BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport woman was arrested this week, and is accused of robbing a liquor store in November and running over the manager of the business with a car, police said.

Melaine Sanchez was taken into custody Wednesday after she was stopped by state police for a vehicle violation and it was determined there was a warrant for her arrest, according to authorities.

Sanchez is charged in connection with the Nov. 27 robbery of Felix Package Store, 874 Boston Ave., police said. The store manager tried to stop the robber in the parking lot, but the offender fled, even though the manager was hanging onto the hood of the robber’s car, according to police, who said the manager was run over when he fell off the vehicle on Pembroke Street, and seriously injured his leg.
