22 Fired For Non-Compliance With Lamont's COVID-19 Vaccine Order
State officials released new details, data on who was fired or placed on unpaid leave over refusal to comply with Lamont's mandate.
CONNECTICUT — As of Friday, 22 workers in the Executive Branch of state government have been fired due to their non-compliance with Gov. Ned Lamont's COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
Another 29 have been placed on unpaid leave, and 70 more are in the process of being placed on unpaid leave due to their ongoing non-compliant status, according to a news release from the Governor's Office.
Overall compliance among the Executive Branch work force is at 95 percent. Factor in those who are temporarily out of compliance due to incomplete or late testing result submissions, and the number is closer to 99 percent, according to Lamont's Office.

The original deadline to comply with the order was Oct. 4, but the state has been meting out pink slips slowly since Oct. 8.
Many in the state Executive Branch workforce have the option to be tested regularly for COVID-19 in lieu of getting vaccinated. Others — notably in the Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services — do not.
