'Aggressive' Coyote Reported In Brookfield Park
Brookfield are warning residents of an "aggressive" coyote reported at Williams Park.
BROOKFIELD, CT — Town officials took to social media to warn of an "aggressive" coyote reported at Williams Park.
In the Facebook post Monday, the Brookfield Parks and Recreation Department did not provide any description of the animal or details of any incident.
Officials warned residents to take precautions and to report any sightings to Park&Rec@Brookfieldct.gov.

To prevent any dangerous encounters, Parks & Rec is asking dog owners to keep their pets leashed. If a park visitor does encounter a coyote, officials advise making a loud noise and throwing any available objects at the animal, but "Aim to scare, not injure, the coyote."
The advisory comes after several dogs were attacked by coyotes in Westport in April. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection warns that unsupervised pets, particularly outdoor cats and small dogs less than 25 pounds, are vulnerable to coyote attacks.
