BROOKFIELD, CT — The Celtic Cottage, a licensed small-batch cottage kitchen/bakery in Brookfield, is bringing a taste of Southern charm to Connecticut with the launch of its limited-edition “Run for the Roses” cookie collection, created in honor of Kentucky Derby Day.
Available for one weekend only, the collection features a lineup of handcrafted, Derby-inspired cookies that blend classic flavors with a seasonal, artisanal twist. Each item is baked in small batches at the Celtic Cottage and designed to capture the spirit, elegance, and tradition of the iconic horse race.
“Our goal was to create something that feels festive and special, while still staying true to the cozy, homemade style people know us for,” said Wendy Mitchell, baker/owner of the Celtic Cottage. “The Kentucky Derby has such a rich tradition—from the flavors to the visuals—and we wanted to bring that experience to our local community in a fun, approachable way,” Mitchell said.
