Vernier Lab Quest 2

Technology in Science

When doing a lab in science, there are multiple tools needed to measure and collect data. For example, if you wanted to take the temperature of water you would need a thermometer, and you would have to record and graph your data by hand. This can be very time consuming and it is not always accurate. That is why the Vernier Lab Quest 2 was created, to make labs easier, quicker, and more accurate. This way there can be more time in class to review the results and analyze the data. The Vernier Lab Quest 2 is a probe that collects, measures, and records data in multiple ways. Data can be collected as a graph or a table and then it can be emailed, saved to the device, or viewed on a mobile device with the Vernier app. There are also numerous plug-ins used for measuring data in different ways. These plug-ins fit into the probe through a USB port, and more than one can be used at a time. The plug-ins are just different tools for measuring data, such as a thermometer or a voltage meter, except they are faster and you can view the progression on your screen. This re-chargeable probe is a great way to learn about science in school. The probe is a fun way to do labs, and it's system is so simple that it is recommended for K-8, high school, and college level learning. Vernier technology allows for advanced learning in science. What teacher would not want that?
