Brookfield Blight Ordinance Gets Public Hearing

The meeting is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4 in Room 133 of town hall.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The town's blight ordinance will get a public hearing on Tuesday.

The Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing on a proposed ordinance that would enable the town to demolish hazardous buildings if the owner did not do it him or herself within 120 days of being asked.

The revised version also proposes that the town's Blight Prevention Panel can require owners to fix up homes that are deemed a fire hazard or are otherwise dangerous
