Brookfield Boards to Review Proposed $44.4 Million School Budget

The budget, if approved, would represent a 3.9 percent increase over the 2018-19 budget.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Four new teachers are among the upgrades and investments proposed in the latest school budget being presented to the selectmen and finance boards on Tuesday night.

The $44.4 million budget, if approved, would represent a 3.9 percent increase over the 2018-19 budget.

The lion's share of the proposed expenditures are for salary and benefit increases, already contracted.

The Board of Selectmen must deliver their version of both town and school budgets to the Finance Board by March 1. The Finance Board will submit the final version to the town clerk by March 22, and a public referendum will be scheduled for the spring.
