BROOKFIELD, CT — The 2019 municipal election is heating up in Brookfield and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.

Brookfield Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.

Chris Delia, 57, is running for a seat on the Zoning Commission as a Republican. He is a retired NYPD detective/FBI task force and the owner of Delia Investigations and The Counter Strike Group. Delia was the founder and president of the Jupiter, FL, Crime Watch program and a judge on that town's Code Enforcement Board. He was Republican District Leader in New Rochelle, NY, and an officer in the Lewis Post 1021 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Over growth and the lack of the current administration to listen to what the residents want. I plan on holding public hearings to give the residents their voices back and I plan on holding developers to the rules and regulations of this town, not make special exceptions for them.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

The biggest difference between me and the rest of the people running is I am here to serve the people of Brookfield and no one else.

List other issues that define your campaign platform:

The others say, there is nothing we can do to stop the overcrowding in Brookfield, developers do not have to follow our laws. I say yes they do and I know how to make them do it.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

As a judge on the Code Enforcement Board I was also told that it was impossible to stand up to developers. While I was on the board, I showed that was not the case. We made sure the public was heard by us, the mayor and the developers, it made a difference.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I am not running for any other reason than to server the community that has been so good to me. I want this town to remain a town, not a city.

The best advice ever shared with me was ...

Good leaders eat last and lead from the front.
