Brookfield Candidate Profile: Joe Beal For Board of Education

Beal tells Patch why he should be elected to a seat on the Board of Education.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The 2019 municipal election is heating up in Brookfield and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.

Brookfield Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.

Joe Beal, 55, is running for a seat on the Board of Education as a Republican. He is 22-year Air Force veteran, stationed primarily in Air Force Space Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).

Beal also worked as a compliance and operational executive at General Electric for 11 years, and currently works as a risk and control manager in commercial banking. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the University of La Verne, La Verne, California, and an MBA from Regis University in Denver.

Efficient use of tax dollars and resources, particularly in the Education Department as we prepare for development of a new School.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I believe my many years of experience both in the military and the private sector give me a unique perspective on managing resources, and building high performing, motivated teams.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I have dedicated myself to service and continue to serve. Following a successful career in the U.S. Air Force, I continued to serve. I managed Brookfield youth baseball teams for many years and I currently am the Commander of a Veterans Organization in Brookfield, among other community service activity.
