The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

During the past four years, I've worked hard to increase transparency, honesty, and accountability in Town government. Currently I'm working to implement a new, publicly accessible report detailing the payments out of our general fund. If re-elected I plan to continue the progress made in our financial processes and controls.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

One of the major differences would be the fact that in my last four years as Treasurer, I have a proven track record in identifying the areas of weaknesses in our financial picture, and rectifying them, one by one. The role requires persistence and a long view of where we need to be, and I have the benefit to be able to hit the ground running and continue our progress.

List other issues that define your campaign platform:

We’re at a critical point in the growth of Brookfield. We need leadership with strong knowledge of our history, as well as a genuine desire to see change happen intelligently. Smart planning across all boards for our future with the right people in those roles will keep us on track.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

In the past four years, with my oversight and hands on approach, we have transitioned from a poor control environment, countless issues with reconciliations and just plain bad record keeping, to much more efficient and honest reporting, and good procedures in place.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I genuinely care about our overall financial picture and have a history of questioning everything in an effort to stay informed and involved, and be able to share with residents in an open dialogue. I am humbly in this role to serve all residents, be they Republican, Democrat, or Unaffiliated voters, as we all have an interest in getting things right.

The best advice ever shared with me was ...

Nothing happens overnight... in government.
