BROOKFIELD, CT — The 2019 municipal election is heating up in Brookfield and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.

Brookfield Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.

Scott Dale is running for a seat on the Planning Commission as a Democrat. He works in trade compliance and logistics, and holds a Customs Broker license. He received his BA from UConn.

The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

It's a great town and I hope to help control the pace and manner of its growth and development through sound planning. That also involves listening to its people.

I have a proven background of working with government agencies and partnering for success.

I am running for the Planning Commission to help guide smart growth consistent with town values – especially the Town Center.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

Developing trade compliance programs involves comprehending regulations, explaining them to others, collaborating and adapting to the situation around you as needed, and - formulating and communicating a plan.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I grew up on the Westside of Danbury and have witnessed firsthand its development over the years. While there is now an abundance of food and shopping options, there are also the growing pains of traffic and congestion. Brookfield can take notice and learn from both the successes and ongoing challenges of its neighbors.
