Colombo, Harding To Debate Issues At Brookfield Chamber of Commerce State House Debate

BROOKFIELD – Republican incumbent Stephen Harding and Democratic challenger Kerri Colombo will discuss legislative and local issues at a debate that will be sponsored by the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce.

The event will be live-streamed from room 133 of the Brookfield Town Hall on Thursday night, October 15, starting at 7 o’clock and will later be posted at YouTube.com.

Due to the ongoing pandemic the general public will not be allowed to attend the session in person.

The live-stream will be available at https://www.brookfiledct.gov/YouTube.

Harding of Brookfield initially captured the seat in February 2015. The district includes all of Brookfield, the Stony Hill section of Bethel and a northern portion of Danbury.

Colombo, who lives in Brookfield and formerly was a resident of Bethel, was nominated earlier this year.

The district has about 24,000 residents.

This is the third time in less than six years that the Brookfield chamber has sponsored a debate between the candidates in the district.

Scott Benjamin, a part-time online Political Science instructor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a part-time reporter for Brookfield Patch, will moderate the session.

Note: Reporters who want to cover the debate in person should contact Benjamin at ScottBenjaminWCSU2014@gmail.com or (860) 354-3521.
