Brookfield Cheerleader and Cheer Team to Compete in National Competition

Brookfield resident Gianna “Gigi” Rendino, along with her team from Xtreme Cheer Connecticut in Norwalk, has earned a spot to compete in 2015 at The Summit, the pinnacle of All Star Cheer. Gianna is a fourth grader at Huckleberry Hill Elementary School.

This win was the team’s first competition of the season. Xtreme Cheer is a competitive cheer program. Owners Mike and Dana Talbot said this was the best start of any season so far in the eleven years they have been running the competitive cheer program.

“Along with one of our teams securing a bid to The Summit, our other teams had incredible showings with one first place and two second place wins. All of our athletes did amazing jobs on the mat,” said Mike Talbot.

The Summit is an annual cheer championship held at the ESPN Center in Disney World. Top All-Star Cheer teams from around the country will compete. Last year, one of the gym’s teams placed 7th in the country.
