Brookfield College Student, 22, Found Dead In Parking Garage

NEW HAVEN, CT — The Southern Connecticut State University is mourning the death of student, Sean Gallo, 22, of Brookfield, who was found dead in a parking garage at the college around 11 a.m. Sunday, according to media reports including NBC CT.

Gallo was found unresponsive inside his parked car. He had transferred from Naugatuck Valley Community College and lived in Brookfield. Gallo's cause of death has not yet been released but foul play isn't suspected, NBC CT reports.

“Our deepest sympathies are extended to Sean’s family and friends on this untimely loss,” said President Joe Bertolino, according to Fox 61.

Gallo's father, Lawrence, said his son had been at a homecoming party before his death, and he told Hearst Connecticut that the family is in shock. Lawrence Gallo said his son loved music and played three instruments while attending Brookfield High School, Hearst CT reports. He also played football at Brookfield High.

A memorial service will be held at Brookfield Funeral Home. No date has been set.

Counseling services will be made available for students Monday.
