Brookfield Coronavirus Update: 2nd Death, 94 Confirmed Cases
Here are the latest, local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Brookfield.
BROOKFIELD, CT — First Selectman Steve Dunn confirmed there has been a second death in Town caused by COVID-19.
"It is with a very heavy heart that I confirm that Brookfield has lost a second resident, a male in his 70s, after losing a male in his 50s a couple of days ago," Dunn posted on the Town website. "The entire town sends our thoughts and prayers to both grieving families. Now, more than ever, it is critical that we continue to protect our neighbors by isolating ourselves and our families. Please, stay home unless absolutely necessary."
The Connecticut Department of Public Health has confirmed there are 94 active cases of the new coronavirus in the Town as of Monday.

Statewide, another 48 coronavirus-associated deaths and 1,346 positive cases were reported Monday. There was an increase of 106 current hospitalizations.
To date there have been 13,381 confirmed coronavirus cases in Connecticut and 602 deaths. There are currently 1,760 people hospitalized for COVID-19. Over 44,000 patients have been tested in Connecticut.
