Brookfield Files Appeal Over Registrar's Legal Fees: Report
A judge had ruled against the town's position last month.

BROOKFIELD, CT — After it was ruled that the town should pay for the legal fees for the former Republican registrar of voters, the town has filed an appeal of that decision, reports the News Times.
The town has argued Thomas Dunkerton acted as a party official during the lawsuit. Last month, Judge Anthony Truglia ruled that the town must reimburse former Dunkerton's legal fees incurred during a suit over a Brookfield resident who was kicked out of the Republican Party.
Truglia dismissed the town's objection to Dunkerton's request for reimbursement and ruled that the former registrar was acting in his capacity as a town employee.
