Brookfield Library Open Later For Students Prepping For Mid-Terms
The second annual "Midterm Café" will be held Jan. 19-21.
January 16 2020
The Brookfield Library will extend its hours to provide a comfortable space for high school
students preparing for midterm exams. The second annual Midterm Café will be held January
19-21. The open hours are Sunday 1/19 12-8pm, Monday 1/20 10am – 8pm, and Tuesday 1/21
10am – 10pm.
A recent survey conducted at Brookfield High School illustrated that students look to the public
library for a quiet and comfortable place to study. During the Midterm Café program, the library
provides peer tutors, visits with a therapy dog, and lots of pizza and snacks.

Children’s Librarian Debbie Brooks said of last year’s event, “It was nice to see the teens come
together to support each other in their studying and also to relieve some stress.” Teen Librarian
Abbey Lynch plans to keep that tradition alive this year. “It’s important for teens in town to
have supportive and friendly learning environments, and we love every opportunity we have to
partner with the schools.” The library holds similar events in June before final exams.
The Brookfield Library is located at 182 Whisconier Road, Brookfield, CT. For more information
about Midterm Café or upcoming library activities, please contact: Abbey Lynch at 860-775-
