Brookfield Local Hero Watches Out For The Elderly

Tim DeLisle works six days a week and comes home to two immunocompromised relatives.

BROOKFIELD, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

We are living in strange times, and alongside extraordinary heroes. Among the essential workers without stethoscopes draped around their necks are grocery store employees, who are often the only other non-family members anyone sees regularly who aren't on Zoom.

Tim DeLisle stocks the grocery store shelves at the Shop Rite in Brookfield. He "works six days a week and comes home to two immunocompromised relatives" every day, his wife told Patch. "He makes sure the customers looking for essential items can find them. And tries to not bring home the virus."

But because DeLisle "goes above and beyond to help especially the elderly and seniors" he's move out of just being an essential employee to being an exceptional one.
