
A vigilant officer, noticing a suspected burglar with warrants out for his arrest, followed the Brookfield resident to his home and arrested the man on several charges.
At about 1 p.m. on May 30, Christopher Braun, 30, of Patricia Drive, Brookfield, was observed driving in the area of Candlewood Lake Road. Detective Joseph Lamparelli recognized Braun and knew that he had several warrants for his arrest. The detective followed Braun to his home where he was met by another officer and placed under arrest.
Braun was taken back to police headquarters and charged with two counts of burglary in the third degree, two counts of larceny in the fourth degree, one count of criminal mischief in the first, one count of criminal mischief in the second and a violation of probation warrant.
Braun was unable to post the $40,000 bond and was held overnight for a court appearance on May 31. The case is currently awaiting a plea.
