Brookfield Man Involved in Alleged Drug Ring
Brookfielder Glenn Wagner has been indicted on charges of trafficking marijuana and possession of an illegal firearm.

Federal prosecutors have filed indictments against four Connecticut men, one of whom, Glenn Wagner, is a Brookfield resident. The men are being charged with , namely marijuana and anabolic steroids.
Wagner, 48, whose home , is facing charges of conspiracy to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in the furtherance of a drug trafficking offense and unlawful possession of a prohibited firearm — a sawed-off 12-guage shotgun.
According to court documents, Wagner and three others are alleged to have been operating a drug trafficking ring since January 2007.

During the February 24 raid, officials removed “100 kilograms or more” of marijuana and a Mossberg 12-guage, pistol-grip sawed-off shotgun from Wagner’s home, according to the indictment.
Wagner is scheduled f0r arraignment on Friday, March 18, in Bridgeport and is being held without bail. According to the prosecutor's office, Wagner is being represented by attorney Don Cretella, of the firm Zingaro and Cretella.

Cretella was unavailable for comment as of Wednesday afternoon.
The other defendants in the case, , Kevin Lubic, of Salem, NY, and Richard Sciaccentano, of Stuart, Fla., were also charged in the conspiracy to sell marijuana, as well as with distributing illegal anabolic steroids.
As part of the investigation, Wagner’s home at 58 North Lake Shore Drive as well as the property he owns across the street, 57 North Lake Shore Drive, will be forfeited, along with his shotgun.
Wagner’s neighbors, who all asked to remain off the record, universally stated that he seemed like a good person and none of them could recall any suspicious activities at the house before February’s raid.
“He’s good stuff,” said one of the renters at 57 North Lake Shore. “He’s been a good guy ever since I’ve lived here,” going back to 2001, “I don’t believe everything I read.”
Others who knew him around town said he was visibly stoned at times but that news of the raid and his alleged involvement in a larger drug ring came as a surprise. Wagner had also mentioned to people that he is battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.
