Brookfield Man Pleads Guilty to Selling Oxycodone

A local man was charged and tried after selling almost 400 pills to undercover officers.

A Brookfield man pleaded guilty on charges of conspiring to distribute ocycodone after selling almost 400 pills to local and federal undercover police last year.

Kyle Lutrus, 27, pleaded guilty Wednesday in a Hartford court on one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with the intent to distribute. He is facing a maximum sentence of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of up to $1 million. Sentencing is scheduled to take place on Aug. 1.

In the plea deal, Lutrus also has agreed to forfeit $60,000 and his 2005 Honda Accord.

According to court documents and statements made in court, Brookfield police received information in late 2011 that Lutrus was involved in the illegal distribution of oxycodone.

Between February 2012 and April 2012, Lutrus made multiple sales of oxycodone to an individual working with law enforcement and an undercover DEA Task Force officer. A total of 393 pills were purchased from Lutrus during the course of the investigation.

He was arrested on Dec. 20 and is currently released on a $200,000 bond.

This matter is being investigated by the DEA’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force and the Brookfield Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys David X. Sullivan and Michael E. Runowicz.
