Brookfield Officer Involved in Car Accident Tuesday
A police officer's car was struck while en route to an emergency call Tuesday afternoon.

A Brookfield police officer was involved in a two-vehicle accident at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday while driving through the intersection of Silvermine Road and Federal Road on his way to an emergency call.
According to Capt. John Puglisi, the officer was traveling west on Silvermine Road with his emergency sirens on, when he was struck in the middle of the intersection with Federal Road by a driver traveling southbound.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene and both drivers were taken by ambulance to Danbury Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said Puglisi, who is investigating the accident.

The officer, whose name was not disclosed, was treated at the hospital and released. Police are still waiting to speak with the driver of the other vehicle.
