Brookfield Police Make Arrest in June Bank Robbery
Suspect was already in custody for Danbury burglaries.
Brookfield police charged Christopher Bauer, 39, of Danbury, Wednesday morning in the just south of Four Corners. Bauer, who was already in custody on burglary charges out of Danbury, was arrested at a court appearance and charged with robbery in the third degree and larceny in the second degree.
On June 22, a white male wearing a hat and sunglasses entered the shortly after 9 a.m., approached a teller and demanded the cash from the drawer. The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and was able to escape.
“Several people called after the robbery to say it was him [Bauer] and we followed up and collected enough evidence to serve a warrant,” Brookfield Detective Sgt. Michael O’Brien said Wednesday.

Police said no other arrests are pending in this case.
Bauer is also facing charges from a July 18 arrest in Danbury that include larceny in the fifth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the fifth degree, both misdemeanors, and burglary in the third degree and conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree, felonies.

According to police, Bauer has listed his address as the city streets of Danbury.
