Brookfield Police Searching for Two Burglars Caught in Act
A male and female escaped after being interrupted burglarizing a Berkshire Drive home.

Brookfield police are looking for a man and woman who escaped Thursday after attempting to burglarize a home on Berkshire Drive.
According to police Maj. Jay Purcell, the homeowners discovered the burglars in the act around 2 p.m. and gave chase, forcing the man to drop the jewelry they had taken from the house. No other items were taken, according to police, and the jewelry was recovered.
The two suspects fled in a white Lexus, prompting a town-wide search by officers Thursday afternoon. They were able to escape capture, however police “have leads that we’re pursuing,” Purcell said Friday.
