Brookfield Schools District Creates Texting Service for Parents

The service as provided by the school system is free of charge.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The school district will launch a new texting service this month to keep parents informed.

Parents with mobile phone numbers on file with the district may opt into the service when they receive an introductory text message on Jan. 25. Families whose mobile number is not on file who want to take advantage of the service must log into the Powerschool Parent Portal and enter their texting phone number on the student information page. It will take 24 hours for the system to update after the change is made.

The service as provided by the school system is free of charge, but Schools Superintendent Dr. John W. Barile reminded parents on the schools' Facebook page that their regular text message fees from their phone service carrier, if any, would apply.
