Brookfield Scores High with Financial Firm

Standard & Poor's was impressed by the state of the town's finances.

BROOKFIELD, CT —A leading financial services company has given Brookfield the best possible bond rating, the News Times is reporting.

Standard & Poor’s reaffirmed the town’s AAA bond rating, specifically citing its budget performance and strong liquidity, in a report given by First Selectman Steve Dunn at this week’s Board of Selectmen meeting.

The high rating from S&P will enable the town to receive lower interests rates when it borrows money.
