Brookfield Seeks Award for Still River Greenway

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funds a variety of programs 'which are working to help build a national Culture of Health.'

BROOKFIELD, CT — The town plans to to apply for a $25,000 prize for the Still River Greenway’s efforts to improve community health, the News Times is reporting.

The money is awarded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, which funds a variety of programs "which are working to help build a national Culture of Health." The $25,000 Culture of Health Prize "recognizes communities that have come together around a commitment to health, opportunity, and equity through collaboration and inclusion, especially with historically marginalized populations and those facing the greatest barriers to good health," according to their website.

The Board of Selectmen voted this week to allow the Still River Greenway Ad-Hoc Committee to seek the prize for the paved pathway.
