BROOKFIELD, CT — The town is selling a 1962 out-of-service civil defense truck, which includes a front winch. The vehicle would need to be restored.
The notification on the town website calls for bids in sealed envelopes no later than Nov. 30. at 11:00 a.m., to Jerry Gay, Purchasing Agent, Rm 203 located at Brookfield Town Hall at 100 Pocono Road. Interested potential buyers may arrange an appointment to inspect the truck by calling the Public Works garage at 203-775-3005 located at 81 Grays Bridge Road.
The truck is a 1962 International Harvester Model C 120 4x4 SB Panel Truck Engine (266 V8) with the following considerations:

- Oil leaks.
- Trans and transfer case good but leaks.
- Differentials are good.
- Fuel line disconnected from tank - needs cleaning.
- Gas tank straps need replacing as they are broken and tires are old.
- Front fenders rusted out above headlights.
- Drivers side board patched - rusted out.
- Right rear fender over wheel rusted.
- Seats are ripped.
- Includes original owner's manual, line setting ticket and order form.
