Brookfield Signs Lease Agreements, Raises Rates

The increase affects properties on Obtuse Road South and Federal Road.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Board of Selectmen unanimously voted Monday night to raise the rental rates on two town properties, The News Times is reporting.

The selectmen raised the rent on a Federal Road parking lot from $2,250 to $2,400 a month. The lot is currently used by the owner of 49 Federal Road.

The selectmen also agreed to rent land on Obtuse Road South for antenna and radio equipment used by the police department. The town had been renting the space to a resident for $500 a month, and will increase the rate to $600 once the PD moves in.
