Brookfield Teachers' Union Negotiates Wednesday Early Dismissals

Public schools will be dismissing remote and hybrid students early on Wednesdays to give teachers more time to plan

BROOKFIELD, CT — Public schools will be dismissing remote and hybrid students early on Wednesdays, beginning on Jan. 27.

The move is designed to provide teachers with additional planning time to prepare their lessons for both sets of students, and follows negotiations with the teachers' union that finalized Thursday.

The new schedule does not currently apply to Grades K-8 as the students are in a traditional, in person, 5-days-per-week model. However, the Wednesday early dismissal does apply to Brookfield High School which is still under the hybrid model.
