Brookfield Voters Approve Third Phase of Streetscape

Residents voted to allow the town to borrow the $260,000 it must contribute to the $1.3 million project.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The third phase of the town's streetscape renovation has been approved by voters, the News Times has reported.

The phase three plans envision sidewalks extending further down Federal Road and onto Laurel Road, bus shelters, upgrades to driveways on Old Route 7 and Laurel Hill Road, and a "pocket park" with ornamental trees.

Residents voted to allow the town to borrow the $260,000 it must contribute to the $1.3 million project. Brookfield has applied for a state grant to cover the rest.
