
BROOKFIELD, CT --- Residents go to the polls today to pass judgement on a proposed budget that would increase expenses by 4.1 percent and raise the tax rate by 5.6 percent. The plan includes $43 million for schools, $24.4 million for the town and a capital budget totaling $2.6 million.
District 1 residents may vote at Huckleberry Hill Elementary School, while District 2 residents are to vote at Brookfield High School.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
