Brookfield Youth Cited for Open Fire, Alcohol at Bird Sanctuary
Local 19-year-old charged after party at the Bird Sanctuary.

Brookfield police interrupted a gathering at the Bird Sanctuary on Old Bridge Road just before 1 a.m. Friday and charged a local youth with starting an illegal fire, littering and possession of alcohol by a minor.
After speaking with the group, Tyler Mendonca, 19, of Orchard Street, Brookfield, was cited for kindling fire in the open without authorization, littering on public land and possession of alcoholic beverages by a minor in a public place.
Mendonca was released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on May 10.
