Candlewood Lake Authority Marine Patrol Chief Resigns

BROOKFIELD, CT — The marine patrol chief for the Candlewood Lake Authority has resigned for health reasons, the News Times is reporting.
The CLA will replace Chief Doug Vane during the off-season, approving the appointment of a new chief and assistant chief at its meeting in December.
Vane's resignation was announced as part of the marine patrol’s end of season report at an CLA meeting last week. The report also indicated that the patrol had 599 interactions with people on the water this season, including 69 infractions, 27 written warnings and 365 verbal warnings. There were also three fatalities on the water this season, the report noted.
