Construction Begins on Phase I of Greenway
Work on breakout project begins near the Police Department.
Construction has begun west of the police station on Silvermine Road on the first phase of the Still River Greenway, the through the center of town.
The first phase, which includes the parking area and an 800 linear feet section of the trail, was as a “breakout project,” a smaller portion of the larger project that was “shovel-ready” and would demonstrate to state and federal funding sources that Brookfield is making progress toward the ultimate goal.
The full Greenway project is expected to go to referendum along with later this year.
